Inside Line Tips

PREPARATION:

The bowling season is upon us. Are you ready? You may or may not have been bowling all summer. If you have not then it may be a good idea to get in and roll a few frames to determine if you are ready. We have a few suggestions of what to look for and here they are:

  1.

Check the fit of your ball - if you haven't bowled much over the summer chances are your fingers and thumb will be a little smaller than when you finished last spring. You may even need to see your pro shop operator in some cases.

  2.

Next lets check our shoes - depending on where you stored your shoes they may need a little maintenance as well. Make sure they did not accumulate any moisture while not in use. A damp shoe will NOT slide!

  3.

It is also a good idea to check the approach before you attempt to roll a ball. Most bowling centers refinish lanes and approaches in the off season. The amount of slide you get may be radically differant than you are expecting.

  4.

Finally, start out slow. Work up to full speed gradually as you reaquaint yourself with your surroundings. Warm up some of those muscles that you may not have used for a while.

If you follow some of these suggestions you may have a much better time on the first night. Good Luck!
